Music Player Firmware Update Tool is conveniently located on the Internet, so no matter where you go, you can service your digital music player 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
* Hardware Requirements: USB port, Internet connection
* System Requirements: Windows® XP SP2 / 2000 SP4 (Administrator rights required)
Notes
a. This firmware update program only supports Windows 2000, XP and Vista (except MP510 and MP610). You must have Administrator privileges to run the update.
b. This procedure will DELETE all the files in your Music Player.
c. Please DO NOT use any USB hubs or extension cables.

Step by Step Instructions |

1. Run the Music Player Firmware Update Tool by double-clicking "tmpft.exe" in your file browser.
|
|
 |
|
|
|
2. The software will automatically check online for updates. If an update is detected, one of three dialog boxes will appear:
|

|
|
|
I. New product firmware found
|
| |
 |
|
|
|
II. Product database update found
|
| |
 |
|
|
|
III. Newer version of the Firmware Update Tool found
|
| |
 |
|
|
|
3. When all downloads are complete, the product selection screen will appear. Each product firmware in the database is represented by a rectangular button.
|
|
 |
|
|
|
4. Before updating, please use a pencil or paperclip to hold the "Reset" button on your Music Player down for at least 2 seconds.
|
|
|
|
5. Press and hold the "Trigger"* button (see chart below) and connect the Music Player to an available USB port on your computer. Keep holding the button down.

6. Click the picture or product name that corresponds to the product you want to upgrade. A firmware upgrade window will appear.

7. Click the "Search Device" button. A "Current Version:00.XX.XX" message will appear, indicating that the device firmware may be updated. You may now release the Trigger button.

|
|
8. Follow the directions in the update program to complete the firmware update procedure for your MP3 player.
